My name is Raghad, I’m an emerging designer from South Western Sydney.
While I specialise in Social Design and Illustration, I enjoy exploring other mediums such as Photography, Motion Design and Traditional mediums, which support my creativity and design with visual depth and richness.
As a queer person of colour, my identity drives my mission to leverage my skills, foster positive social change, inspire dialogue and raise awareness of injustices that matter to me.
Amok is a creative textile campaign and brand that challenges wardrobe choices regarding overconsumption and fashion waste through upcycled, customisable and interactive garments.
The brand’s highlight is the ‘re-designable’ hoodie, where artist drawn patches can be interchangeable, giving users the mix and match ability to wear something new, and meaningful. This encourages and motivates users to consider how much they consume, whilst inspiring and educating them on social issues.
The patches feature abstract illustrations that address pressing social and cultural issues, such as LGBTQIA+ rights, violence against women, and immigration, fostering awareness and conversation through fashion.
