The Shadow of Grief

The Shadow of Grief is an illustrated children's book that addresses the concept of grief and death.

This imaginative and lyrical narrative uses the shadow as a metaphor for grief to discuss the different stages and emotions of bereavement that kids may go through. The book is targeted at children between the ages of 3 -10-year-olds and at their parents or guardians as it attempts to provide a better understanding of the emotions, they are feeling following the death of a loved one.

To aid children in their healing journey, the story is also accompanied by a children's grief journal titled "TO THE SHADOW OF MY GRIEF."

Western Sydney University acknowledges the peoples of the Darug, Tharawal, Eora and Wiradjuri nations. We also acknowledge that the teaching and learning currently delivered across our campuses is a continuance of the teaching and learning that has occurred on these lands for tens of thousands of years.
